United make first signing

Post by Blackburnbob on Tue Jun 30, 2009 2:35 pm

Manchester United have made their first signing of the summer after confirming a deal has been done for Antonio Valencia.

The 23-year-old Ecuador international has signed a four-year contract after moving for an undisclosed fee.

Valencia, who joins from Wigan where he scored three goals last season, is expected to help fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo following the star winger's 80million move to Real Madrid.

Not pleased in the slightest. This is a guy that scored three goals last season and missed a sitter against United at the tail end of the season.

I suppose it's time for a YouTube video to make the guy look amazing:

Any idea of how much United paid for him? He's a good player but I've got a feeling that United overpaid for him.

16m pounds...overpaid, yes, but that's what this market is doing to everyone.

That's not too bad. I think it was overpaying but not by a whole lot.
