It's ok Kobe. You can admit that you're nothing without Shaq bailing you out all the time.

Typical Celtics fans - if you win on Thursday, you will all be hunting me down to shove it in my face how you won at the Garden...and when you lose, the game suddenly becomes an immaterial regular season game...show some pride and learn to accept that regardless of the material importance of the game, EVERY game counts for pride...but I guess when you wear green you forget about pride and play only for trophies...and on top of that, have the audacity to call that classy? Haha...give me a break...the passionate Lakers for LIFE!!!

Hahahahahaha. Only play for trophies? YES! That's what sports are about! If the Lakers beat the Celts Thursday, but the Celts win the championship, who has had a more successful season?

Just like if the Arse beat United, and United win the Prem, WE WIN!!!!! Mwahahahaha

Ya i don't really see what the big deal is if the Celts play for trophies...what do the Lakers play for? a first round playoff exit? Is that success in their eyes? i don't think so...it's all about the trophies zain.

Well that's the nth time you have said the exact same thing Brian and to be honest, even a toddler understands the importance of winning trophies...but I guess your obsession with trophies makes you completely miss the point I was making about pride...of course I would much rather win the NBA play-offs than beating you (which we already did on a very merry christmas). Yet, the difference between us is that I always look forward to winning such a rivalry game while you always take it negatively by writing off its importance...anyways, we'll see what happens on Thursday with the Lakers-Celts...as for Arsenal, we will regain the FA Cup and also take away your CL title by the end of the season Wink

Taylor - I should much rather stop talking about Thursday then - See you at the end of the season I guess, and oh, you still need just as much luck to stand a chance against the dominant LA Lakers who btw are right now giving you a preview of Thursday by raping the Knicks!

Ah, yes, I suppose I am guilty of wanting trophies.

And I don't think pride gets any more serious than winning a title. Does it?

And if you are still celebrating the Christmas win, why shouldn't Celts fans throw the NBA Championships right back?

Zain i can't say that raping the knicks would be a good preview into an NBA Finals match-up. Unless of course you consider the knicks NBA Finals worthy.

Zain I found this on ESPN.com, and they all think Kobe is God.

From early on, it was clear Kobe Bryant was not out to get rebounds or dish the rock.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-090203

Andy by the way. I can't say that the Lakers raped the Knicks. The final score was 126-117. Not much defense by the Lakers. A championship team doesn't give up that many points against a crappy team. Now if you want to look at a team that obliterated another team last night, hop on over to the Phoenix Suns v. Sacramento Kings highlight...the final score? 129-81!! That's a 48 point smoke show!

The Lakers average giving up 100 points per game. The Celts average 91.4. That's a huge difference. That seperates a great team from a not-as-great team.

Well the Celts have now won 12 in a row, and it looks like it is going to be a complete battle on Thursday night!

I can say I am quite pleased that Bynum will be out for 8-12 weeks. He's been a beast lately, and the Lake Show will surely miss him. Him being out gives the Celts a huge advantage, especially on the boards. Gasol will move to center, and it looks like Chris Mihm will be getting an increased role over the rest of the season. I'm quite pleased to hear that.

Celts all the way baby!!

Less than 12 hours til tip everybody. This game is going to be an epic match-up!

I do need to point something out about Kobe. A recent event just proved my point that he's a complete ball hog and doesn't make his teammates around him better.

Coincidentally, the event was last night in MSG. King James took the floor, and what did he do? He scored 52 points. I was thinking it was a ball hog performance until i looked at the rest of the stat line.

HE GOT A TRIPLE-DOUBLE ALONG WITH THE 52 POINTS!! That just shows how dominant he is. His stat line:

52 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds

Not a bad day at the office.

Kobe's stat line from the MSG game:

61 points, 3 assists, 0 rebounds

Clearly James' performance was so much better, more well rounded, and included the rest of his team. I can't see how Kobe's can even be compared to LeBron's.

But tonight's game is going to be FANTASTIC!!!

There are good players out there and then there are great players out there too...James is a good player but Kobe is GREAT - Your statistics may seem to show on paper that Kobe is selfish and hogs the ball but for me, 61 is just better than 52 and the other day when we were having this argument, you guys kept asking me Kobe's SCORING AVERAGE and now when he scores 61 in a game, it becomes proof of selfishness? Well I can see why the MVP has so many people trying to hold him back but he is unstoppable...I am afraid the fixture list is unfavorable for us because we were in a different country last night playing the Raptors and Celtics are completely fresh...but I am still hoping we can destroy the Celtics regardless Wink

Okay, the "different country" argument doesn't work as Toronto is closer than Boston for the Lakers.

well the celts lost a really tough game to the spurs. meanwhile the lake show ended the cavs unbeaten at home win streak. neither of these facts bother me, as i still forsee a celts v. lakers finals rematch. call me biased, but until i'm proven wrong, that will be my prediction.

the lakers will be back in business tonight when they play the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight in the Staples Center. Even i can't argue with that. The Thunder are terrible, but i sure hope Kevin Durant can muster some of his lanky strength and bring home the upset.

meanwhile, tomorrow the celts have a really tough game in N'awlins against the CP3 and the hornets. That will be a fantastic game to watch. hopefully it won't end the same way as the spurs game the other day.

In the NBA's 2nd to last game before the All-Star break Boston are in Dallas for tonight's game against the Mavs. This will be an extremely tough game. The Mavs will be hurting though as they have lost guard Jason "Jet" Terry indefinitely to a broken hand. He has been a critical piece of this team this season and one of the players carrying this team night in and night out. He will be sorely missed.

As for the game, I cannot wait to see how this game goes. It's never easy playing the Mavs, and this game should be no different. I can still see the Celts winning this one, but I'm not 100% confident in that pick.

If that wasn't a statement win to end the first half of the season i don't know what is...the mavs should've won, but the celtics battled back and got a HUGE win going into the break.

Finally Stephon Marbury is on the Celtics. They took my advice and he got a standing ovation in his first game. Great job Steph and keep up the good work. You could be taking home a ring by the end of the season if you don't mess up the chemistry in the locker room.

so how far can the celts make it in the postseason if kg isn't 100%? as of now i have them as reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, but i really do think they have what it takes to make it back to the finals. i don't know about winning it because the West is just so tough, but role players are really stepping up (thank you big baby and miki moore and co.), and i think they will make a run. the cavs will be very tough to beat though.

Do the Celtics have what it takes to get by the Magic? If I had only watched the first half of last night's Game 1, I would have said that the Magic would win the series easily, but since I watched the whole game, I really think the Celts can pull it off. It won't be easy, and it will probably take 7 games again (they seem to like Game 7's over the past 2 years), but it is feasible. Let's go Celtics!!
