Community Shield Empty Community Shield

Post by John Pini Tue Aug 05, 2008 5:50 pm

Do you think Portsmouth can send a message to the EPL with a tie or win in the upcoming Community Shield? i.e. "hey, maybe they are for real this season."

OR do you look at as simply another preseason game?

It's a bit more competitive than a preseason friendly, but not 100%. Both teams will put out their best available elevens, though (or close to it). I can't look past United in this one.

Be sure to check out my article previewing the Community Shield. It'll be posted on Thursday at 10am EST.

I really think the community shield is pretty useless as an indicator as succsess for the season (as are all pre-season games) I remeber man united being beatean 3-0 by chelsea one year and everyone saying chelsea were going to win the league because of it, dont think they even finished in the top 6 that year
