What does everybody think about Pompey's ridiculous display?

Losing to Swansea who are currently in 9th in the Coca Cola Championship?

That's just pathetic.

Yeah bad display, even worse from Pennant who has been mouthing off saying he is that good he didn't want to leave Liverpool he can fight for hsi place, pretty lousy display, same with Spurs they looked poor, everytime the ball went forward none of them hadany urgency about getting forward, Dawson was good that was it for spurs, oh sorry Alnwick made some good saves

*EDIT* Apparently ITV pundits Andy Townsend and Teddy Sheringham felt the same as me, Arry said in an interview :-

"That criticism is unfair," said Redknapp.

"I don't know what game they can have been watching. How can they say we didn't try?

"I think people are jumping on a bandwagon. This is a tough place to come and it is not like we have been beaten 6-1. We have lost 2-1.

"Everyone wants to jump on Tottenham at the moment. I was happy with the effort today."

Well if he was happy with that effort he doesn't take much pleasing does he, might explain why things are so bad there

Merseyside Derby was unbelievable again, especially in the last five minutes when Pool seemed like they'd score for sure.

Taylor, I'd just like to say I agree with you; I am an Everton believer too. What a tough two games they've played, both AT Anfield. They had such a great defense again today, and once again it took a huge individual effort to break through (by FERNANDO TORRES, not Gerrard). It's passes like that by Torres that are almost undefendable because it was so creative even though there were three defenders on him. Not to take anything away from Gerrard, who had an amazing game, but Torres is the one who got this team through. Anyway, this Everton team showed that it is for real. Great game all around.

Ya the Torres pass was amazing, and then Gerrard finish was clinical. I kept saying that Liverpool was going to score at the end of the game because it was just attack attack attack, but it never happend. it's testament to Everton as a team. They don't fold when people expect them to.

But in other news...I have had enough of all these Merseyside Derbies. There have been way too many this season. Please make them stop!

I've always rated everton closely with the likes of Aston Villa, just seems Villa this season are having the luck and the toffee's aren't

I wouldn't say it's luck so much for either team. They are both very talented teams. Villa have just been more consistent over the whole season, whereas Everton have shown much more consistency with Yakubu out of the lineup.

I agree with Blackburnbob, I've always thought Everton to be better than Villa. After the sale of Gravesen to Real Madrid they took a step back, in my opinion, and only with the addition of Fellaini are they recovering. They'll close the season strongly.

Anyone else think Everton can win the replay at Goodison?

I definitely think they are capable of winning the replay. I think Liverpool will begin to set their sights more on the title challenge and the CL. Everton meanwhile would like some silverware, and they definitely have the ability and potential to bring the FA Cup back to Goodison Park.

If the likes of Arteta an Cahill play up for the home crowd i can see a win for Everton, pool too inconsistent this season, BUT pool and Gerrard always seem to pull magic out the hat in finals and big games

I'm predicting a Liverpool win. I do think Everton deserve the draws they've gotten in the last two games vs liverpool, and I'm not taking anything away from them. I've also said I am now and Everton believer because of the gutsy performances they've shown in these two derbies. But Liverpool was the better team in both games in terms of possession, creating chances, etc. And they'll be the better team again in the replay.

J-Pini...you would pick Liverpool haha. Goodison isn't an easy place to play. Everton will win it for the home crowd. Liverpool are too inconsistent at the moment.

not as much hatred as you think...i actually like Liverpool. i'm just not confident in their team right now. i think they are more likely to fight for the Prem and CL titles rather than the FA, so that's why i said they are going to lose in the replay against Everton.

To be clear, I was being somewhat sarcastic in that last post about seeing the light. I think Liverpool have roughly just as good a chance at winning the Prem as United, and I'm rooting for them. There's just so many games to go that I'm saying you can't count out a team who is hand in hand w/ United on top.

The thing I want to be clear about is that I firmly do think they will beat Everton in the replay. And also Taylor, I disagree that their FA cup ambitions have taken a back seat to their Prem and CL ambitions, because look at how competitive that game was a few days ago. Neither team is going to let this go without giving it 100%, because then it would make the intense effort of that game all for nothing. They didn't even bench regular starters-- Reina expected to get the day off but did not. Plus, it's the Merseyside derby-- it will be a fiercely contested game.

What? Just because they're at home and want to win it for their fans means that they definitely will? Everton don't know how to beat Liverpool. Pool have been the better side every time they've played so far this season. Its only everton's 10 defenders that keep 'pool from winning.

Pool will win, but i would like to see Everton win, be nice for them to get some silverware, Moyes is a good manager too, i think Everton have got it in them to beat Pool, realisticly it ain't gonna happen, but be nice if it did

i agree w/ you blackburnbob...hey andy...i'm not saying liverpool is a bad side. obviously they are one of the best teams in the world...i'm just saying that what everton is doing (10 defenders) obviously has been working for them, and being at home will be that much more of an incentive to knock Pool out of the FA Cup.

Let's get one thing straight: Everton has not been playing "anti-football." There is a difference between that and playing good defense. Everton do not just clear the ball when they win it; they are a very solid counterattacking team and they occassionally get spells of possession even against Liverpool. I guess what it comes down to is that they're not only good defensively, but they're one of the most organized teams I've seen this season. That's why they're challenging for the 5th spot now, and that's how they've managed three very hard-fought 1-1 draws vs Liverpool and Arsenal over the past few weeks.
