Re: UEFA Cup
Ok now that for the 2nd straight round the team i picked to win has been eliminated...it is time for me to make another pick for who will win the UEFA Cup...with my next choice i pick:
Zenit...hopefully
If the trend continues w/ zenit being knocked out in the next round...i will officially declare myself cursed hahaha...this is getting ridiculous...first ac milan then ajax...i guess zenit is next on the chopping block!!

Re: UEFA Cup
Taylor Fisher, you are hereby declared CURSED! Zenit is OUT.
Meanwhile, my Hamburg SV has moved on for the 3rd time since picking them. And meanwhile, Man City is scoreless in the 58th, still up 2-0 agg...

Re: UEFA Cup
soooooooooo...who should i pick for my next team? i'll wait until the draw happens then i will pick the next team to win it...i mean get knocked out hahahha
Re: UEFA Cup
now that i have seen the draw...i am picking marseille to win it all...they have been playing amazing football all season long...they are battling w/ lyon for the top spot in ligue 1...so i don't see how they wouldn't be in the finals and winning it.
Re: UEFA Cup
I'm gonna pick Hamburg as well, playing wel right now, the French league is not a great league so even though Marseille are doing well there i don't think it will translate to a Uefa cup win

Re: UEFA Cup
Yeah, I think the Hamburg-Manchester City tie has the two best teams left, and I can't decide whether to root for Hamburg for the sake of my prediction or for City who I'd like to see do it. W/e, should be exciting.

Re: UEFA Cup
I'll be supporting City, would love to see an English Club win it, should have been Villa though.

Re: UEFA Cup
ya villa should have won it...but they had their eyes set on bigger things in the prem until they slipped up big time...now they really need to devote all of their efforts toward salvaging their season.
Re: UEFA Cup
My pick took another giant step toward progression (Hamburg SV). Taylor, once again your pick has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. We'll see though, I don't want to pour on the boast till it's done.

Re: UEFA Cup
this is just ridiculous! i don't know if i can handle this anymore! marseille...what are you doing guys? you can't let this jinx continue!
i hope city can make it up in the 2nd leg, but it sure won't be easy by any means...2-0 is still possible though and very realistic.
werder bremen got a convincing home victory, but they certainly aren't safe since a 2-0 loss next week would knock them out. i think they will still move on though.

Re: UEFA Cup
All 4 of the UEFA Cup Quarterfinal matches are today...who do you see moving on to the semis?
Just for reference, here is how the scores stand now (the team on the left is the home team for the 2nd leg):
Marseille 0-2 Shakhtar
Dynamo Kyiv 0-0 PSG
Manchester City 1-3 Hamburg
Udinese 1-3 Werder Bremen
I am picking Marseille, PSG, Hamburg, and Werder Bremen to move on.

Re: UEFA Cup
O i am so stupid...i just realized that i typed psg to move on when i mean dynamo kyiv...well whatever...i agree with you mike...werder bremen is going to win it all (but since i just picked them...it means they will be knocked out in the next round).
Re: UEFA Cup
Pini...Hamburg was finally knocked out. That was a fantastic pick by you though. Shakhtar v. Werder Bremen in the final...who do you think will win? I'm picking Bremen.
Re: UEFA Cup
not gunna say i told you so, but i told you so
a bremen vs. shakhtar matchup is what I figured, and I really think Bremen will win....although Bremen's best player Diego is suspended for the game...
Once again I ask the question, why are there suspended players for a 1 legged final of a cup tournament?
Wipe the slate of cards clean before the final, so that we can have all the teams at full strength...
